The US FDA has issued a press release to confirm that W H & Group LLC., at 287 Vandervoort Ave, Brooklyn, New York 11211 is recalling Dried Fish discovered by New York State Dept. of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors during a routine inspection and subsequent analysis of product by food lab personnel confirming that the fish was not eviscerated prior to processing.

Update on recall of Mas-River Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans by Oriental Merchant (Europe) Ltd

The public will wish to be aware of this update to Food Alert for Action 01/2011 issued on 02/02/11 concerning the recall of Mas-River Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans. The Agency has now received further information confirming that the product is a composite product containing less than half of its substance as processed fishery product. This means that the product does not need to come from an approved establishment as stated on the original Food Alert for Action.

The batch of the product detailed below found to contain high levels of histamine is still subject to recall as detailed on Product Recall Information Notice 03/2011 issued on 19/01/11. A recall of the affected batch has been carried out by the UK Importer, Oriental Merchant (Europe) Ltd. Product recall notices have been issued to stores that sell the product, explaining why it has been recalled and actions consumers can take if they have bought it.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) are warning the public not to consume the Nature's Reward brand fresh cilantro described below because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The affected product, Nature's Reward brand fresh cilantro, product of USA, was sold in bunches held together with a twist tie bearing PLU 4889 and UPC 0 33383 80104 9. There is no brand name, date or lot code on the ties. This cilantro was sold at Walmart stores in Ontario from January 17th to January 27th. Consumers who may have purchased this fresh cilantro and are not sure of the product's PLU and UPC codes are advised to contact their place of purchase to see if they have the affected product. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. follow the link to read more.

The US FDA has issued a press release to confirm that McAllen, TX Magic Valley Fresh Frozen, Inc. has announced that it is voluntarily recalling 6,492 packages of frozen breaded okra because they may contain undeclared whey. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. The breaded okra was produced by Magic Valley Fresh Frozen, Inc. in McAllen, Texas and is sold in retail grocery stores throughout the United States under the Spartan or Shurfine label.
