Update on recall of Mas-River Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans by Oriental Merchant (Europe) Ltd

The public will wish to be aware of this update to Food Alert for Action 01/2011 issued on 02/02/11 concerning the recall of Mas-River Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans. The Agency has now received further information confirming that the product is a composite product containing less than half of its substance as processed fishery product. This means that the product does not need to come from an approved establishment as stated on the original Food Alert for Action.

The batch of the product detailed below found to contain high levels of histamine is still subject to recall as detailed on Product Recall Information Notice 03/2011 issued on 19/01/11. A recall of the affected batch has been carried out by the UK Importer, Oriental Merchant (Europe) Ltd. Product recall notices have been issued to stores that sell the product, explaining why it has been recalled and actions consumers can take if they have bought it.

All other batches of the product were distributed in 2008 and have now passed their 'best before' date.
