Food safety is a given, when a consumer purchases food they expect it to be safe and fit to eat. The responsibility for ensuring food is safe to eat rests with the farmer (sometimes called the primary producer), the manufacturer or processor (if the food is prepared in a factory), the distributor and wholesaler (the people responsible for transfering the food from the manufacturer to the shop or to the door in the case of direct sales or mail order), the retailer and the consumer themselves.

Silver Spring Foods, Inc. is voluntarily recalling Waterfront Bistro Tartar Sauce because there is a chance an incorrect back label was attached to the bottle, which does not correctly identify ingredients that could pose an allergen risk; specifically, egg.
As a precautionary measure, Supervalu and Centra are initiating a recall of Supervalu Signature Tastes Irish Chicken and Wild Mushroom Pie and Inspired By Centra Irish Chicken and Wild Mushroom Pie, due to the possible presence of small bones. Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores that sold the implicated products.
