FDA and FSIS recalls this week

NOW Health Group, Inc. (NOW), of Bloomingdale, Illinois, is expanding the voluntary recall of Ellyndale® Nutty Infusions™ Roasted Cashew Butter – Product Code E0540, Lot# 2125155, and Ginger Wasabi Cashew Butter -- Product Code E0541, Lot# 2124118, to include Roasted Almond Butter – Product Code E0545, Lot# 2124119, and Mango Chili Cashew Butter – Product Code E0542, Lot# 2125156. An FDA follow-up inspection of the Nutty Infusions supplier’s facility revealed these lots have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

GoMacro, of Viola, Wis., is recalling a limited number of MacroBars and Thrive Bars because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,

Golden Platter Foods Inc., a Newark, N.J. establishment, is recalling approximately 31,662 pounds of poultry and beef products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The products contain, milk, a known allergen which is not declared on the products labels.

The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today announced it has expanded the recall of its 12 oz. packages of Simple Truth Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Wildway LLC is voluntarily recalling certain grain-free granola codes, because the Company has been notified by an ingredient supplier that an ingredient used in these products has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Willis Ocean Inc., Brooklyn, NY, is recalling its “the duck” brand “frozen steamed scomber fish”, because the product was found to be uneviscerated leading to a risk of Clostridium botulinum

Channel Fish Processing Co., Inc, a Boston, Mass. establishment, is recalling approximately 840 pounds of breaded Swai products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The products may contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the finished products labels.

NEW ENGLAND NATURAL BAKERS of Greenfield MA, is issuing a voluntary recall, the company has been notified by an ingredient supplier that an ingredient used in these products has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Embutidos Fanguito, Inc., a Miami, Fla. establishment, is recalling approximately 454 pounds of pork products due to mislabeling, misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The product label incorrectly identified it as cooked product. In addition, the products may contain soy, a known allergen, and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) which are not declared on the finished product label.

Chic-a-Peas, LLC is voluntarily recalling a limited number of Chic-a-Peas Baked Crunchy Chickpeas 2 oz. packages because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. 

Supreme Cuisine, a Montgomery City, Mo. establishment, is recalling approximately 325,000 pounds of meat and poultry fat and lard products due to a processing deviation, which may result in the potential growth and survival of bacterial pathogens in the products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

OFD Foods, LLC., an Albany, Ore. establishment, is recalling approximately 197 pounds of beef product that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically rubber, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

Joseph Seviroli Inc., a Garden City, N.Y. establishment, is recalling approximately 114,409 pounds of beef ravioli products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The products contain, milk, a known allergen which is not declared on the products labels.

CC Kitchens is recalling a limited number of salad and slaw kits due to a possible health risk from Listeria. No contamination has been reported to have occurred on any product, nor have any illnesses been reported to date in association with the recall.

Packer Avenue Foods, Inc., a Philadelphia, Pa., establishment, is recalling approximately 9,690 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken salad due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products could contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

Slade Gorton Co. Inc. Issues Allergy Alert On Undeclared Milk

Gourmet Boutique LLC, with establishments in Jamaica, N.Y. and Phoenix, Ariz., is recalling approximately 294,744 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) chicken products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The products could contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

Giant Eagle, Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of Market District Toasted Crumb Tilapia and Giant Eagle Toasted Crumb Tilapia sold fresh from the seafood department of its supermarkets, and Giant Eagle Breaded Chicken Breast sold in the prepared foods department, due to an undeclared milk allergen.

Waitrose recalls Frozen 2 Breaded Haddock Fillets because of incorrect allergen labelling

Waitrose is recalling a batch of its Frozen 2 Breaded Haddock Fillets because it was incorrectly packaged with battered haddock fillets, which contain milk and mustard. This means the product contains undeclared mustard and milk and this is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard, and/or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
