Recall of Nua Naturals Organic Apricot Kernels Due to Incorrect Directions for Use on Label

The Food Standards Authority of Ireland have issued an alert to confirm that Nua Naturals is recalling batches of its Organic Apricot Kernels as the recommended usage on the label incorrectly advises to consume ‘No more than 3 to 5 kernels daily.’ Due to the potential acute and long term toxic effects associated with cyanide, the FSAI advises that consumption of apricot kernels should not exceed 1-2 per adult per day, as doses above this could cause an acute health risk.
