Low Levels of Listeria monocytogenes Detected in a Batch of Burren Smokehouse Smoked Organic Salmon

Low levels of Listeria monocytogenes have been detected in the above batch of Burren Smokehouse Ltd smoked organic salmon. A low level of the pathogen was detected in the smoked salmon; however, because Listeria monocytogenes can grow at refrigeration temperatures, there is a risk that the bacteria could grow to harmful levels. Listeriosis is a serious disease which can be life threatening, particularly for pregnant women, the elderly and other people with a weakened immune system. Follow the link for batch details.
