Certain nut butters, peanuts, sugar and tahini from Vicrossano Inc. may contain Salmonella or other harmful bacteria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume and retailers, restaurants and institutions not to sell or use the nut butters, peanuts, sugar or tahini described in the press release because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella or other harmful bacteria. These products have been distributed in Ontario and Quebec and may have been distributed in other provinces as well. Consumers who cannot determine the original product identity are advised to check with their retailer to determine if they have one of the affected products. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
