Certain Nestle brand Kit Kat Chunky bars may contain pieces of plastic

Nestle are recalling some of their Kit Kat Chunky bars and an Easter egg due to seven people reporting small pieces of plastic in the bars. As a precautionary measure, the company has recalled four Kit Kat Chunky special varieties (48g size bars in Peanut Butter, Hazelnut, Choc Fudge and Caramel flavours) and Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg with the following best before date ranges:

Kit Kat Chunky Peanut Butter (48g) Best before date range: September 2013 to February 2014
Kit Kat Chunky Hazelnut (48g) Best before date range: September 2013 to October 2013
Kit Kat Chunky Choc Fudge (48g) Best before date range: September 2013 to October 2013
Kit Kat Chunky Caramel (48g) Best before date range: June 2013 To July 2013
Kit Kat Chunky Hazelnut Multipack Best before date range: September 2013 To December 2013
Kit Kat Chunky Collection Giant Egg best before date: July 2013
No other Kit Kat product is affected.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Nestle Canada Inc. are warning the public not to consume the Nestle Kit Kat Chunky bars described in the press release as they may contain pieces of plastic. There have been no reported consumer complaints about these products in Canada. The importer, Nestlé Canada Inc., North York, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
