Rangeland Foods withdraws burgers due to horse meat
Catering supplier Rangelands Foods in the Republic of Ireland today told the Food Safety Authority of Ireland that some of its burger products contain significant levels of horse meat.
The company has conducted its own testing and confirmed that the meat content of some frozen burger products was found to be between 5% and 30% horse meat. Affected products have been distributed to UK caterers and wholesalers.
In light of this information, the FSA is advising all caterers and wholesalers who have Rangeland products to contact their supplier.
The FSA will provide updates as soon as they are available.
