Update on recall of Snax 4 U (of Glasgow) three date codes of own brand sandwiches, baguettes, wraps and filled rolls due to a rodent infestation

Update on recall of Snax 4 U (of Glasgow) three date codes of own brand sandwiches, baguettes, wraps and filled rolls due to a rodent infestation. Heads of Environmental Health Services will wish to be aware of this update to Food Alert for Action 01/2013 issued on 09/01/2013 concerning the recall associated with Snax 4 U (of Glasgow) and three date codes of its sandwiches, baguettes, wraps and filled rolls as they were produced in premises served with a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice due to food hygiene contraventions involving rodent infestation.

Despite enquiries by investigating officers in the originating local authority, it has not been possible to obtain full distribution details or product traceability records. Products have also been found in two local authority areas not on the original distribution list in Scotland. In addition, officers have identified further date codes and different products that have also been supplied from this premises with use by dates up to and including 14 January 2013. The products appear to be distributed to newsagents and small independent convenience stores. It may be that some retailers have purchased large quantities of products and shared them with other retailers. Therefore there is the possibility of product on sale outwith the Glasgow boundary.
