Iceland recalls its Chicken Biryani due to the presence of undeclared allergens

Allergens: Wheat (Gluten), milk, mustard and shellfish (prawns) Ref PPP-2012

Risk:  Due to a packaging error, the above product contains Prawn Curry, therefore the presence of wheat (gluten), milk, mustard and shellfish (prawns) have not been declared on the label. Their presence poses a public health risk to those allergic to and/or intolerant of these allergens.

Product identification:  Iceland Chicken Biryani, 500g Best before date: 03.10.13

Action taken by the company:  The company has recalled the product from sale and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at-risk members of the issue. Customer notices will be displayed in stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the recall and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product.
