GH Foods CA Initiates Voluntary Recall of Products That Contain Yellow Onions Because of Potential Health Risk
GH Foods CA, LLC, is initiating a voluntary recall of various products containing yellow onions distributed to retail supermarkets. The products were manufactured using onions recalled by Gills Onions because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. A list of the brands, products and states is provided at the end of this release. No other GH Foods CA products or code dates are affected by this recall. The company is cooperating with the FDA. Products are packaged in plastic containers and/or film overwrapped trays with code dates printed on the front or back label.
There have been no reported illnesses attributed to the recalled items. GH Foods CA is issuing this voluntary recall linked to Gills Onions expanded recall to minimize risk to the public health.
