Tesco told to shut flagship Covent Garden store over 'serious' mice infestation

The Telegraph reports that Westminster Council has ordered the Tesco store, one of the capital’s busiest, to close and issued a hygiene prohibition notice as it demanded a "thorough clean-up". It flagged substandard maintenance of routine cleaning and inadequate mice prevention measures as the reason behind the closure. Tesco said it was "extremely concerned" by the situation and apologised for failing to meet its “own very high standards” on hygiene. Follow the link to read more.
