Flowers Foods Pulls Nature's Own Butterbread Off Store Shelves in Certain Florida and Southeast Georgia Counties
Flowers Foods today announced that, out of an abundance of caution, it has pulled off store shelves in certain Florida and southeast Georgia counties loaves of its Nature's Own Butterbread with the specific best by date of 12/7/11 and the UPC code 72250-04919 because they may contain small flakes of aluminum. No other Nature's Own bakery products are affected.
Counties involved in the product withdrawal: In Florida: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee, Union, and Volusia In Georgia: Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Clinch, Glynn, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Ware, and Wayne Nature's Own Butterbread, in 20-oz. packages with both the date and code noted above may contain small flakes of aluminum. No injuries have been reported. Only a small number of loaves may have been affected, and the company has already pulled loaves with the specified date and code from the counties noted. Grocers in these counties are advised to withdraw from sale any Nature's Own Butterbread with the date and code noted that may still be in their possession and hold it for pickup by the company. The production issue related to this matter has been corrected.
