Texas Firm Recalls Carne Guisada Due To Misbranding and Undeclared Allergen

Supreme Meat Purveyors, a San Antonio, Texas establishment, is recalling approximately 22,100 pounds of Carne Guisada. The products contain soy, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced.

The products subject to recall include: Cases containing two, 5-lb. bags of frozen Carne Guisada with a case code of 71087/506004, 500233 or 600100. The products subject to recall were produced on various dates from 10/25/10 to 10/19/11. The cases bear the establishment number EST. 20676 inside the USDA mark of inspection and were distributed to restaurants in Louisiana and Texas.
