Consumer Advisory – CFIA Investigation into Potential Listeria Contamination

On September 29, 2011, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) released an advisory to warn consumers about a brand of smoked salmon due to possible contamination of listeria. Ontarians Warned Not To Eat Food Product Contaminated With Listeria The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is currently working with the MOHLTC, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Public Health Ontario and the appropriate local boards of health to investigate this product. The CFIA will take all necessary steps to protect the safety of the Canadian food supply.
