CERTAIN SENSATIONS BY COMPLIMENTS BRAND SMOKED ATLANTIC SALMON MAY CONTAIN DANGEROUS BACTERIA
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Fumoir du Nord are warning the public not to consume the Sensations by Compliments brand Smoked Atlantic Salmon described below because the product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. Toxins produced by this bacteria may cause botulism, a life-threatening illness.
The affected Sensations by Compliments brand Smoked Atlantic Salmon was sold in 120 g packages, bearing UPC 6 23682 10999 3 and Best Before 11NO25 (November 25, 2011). This product has been distributed in Quebec and IGA Extra in Edmundston, New Brunswick.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
