Consumer Advisory - Salmonella Contamination of Ground Turkey in the United States
The Government of Canada continues to closely follow the investigation by U.S. authorities into the recall of ground turkey due to Salmonella contamination in the United States. Based on the information provided by the manufacturer, no ground turkey implicated in the U.S. recall has been shipped to Canada. Canadians who are considering purchasing ground turkey when travelling in the U.S. are urged to monitor the recall on the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service web site at: http://www.fsis.usda.gov/News_&_Events/Recall_060_2011_Release/index.asp.
