Nucci's Bake-a-Deli Fined for Offences Under the Food and Drugs Regulations and the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act

Thunder Bay, Ontario, June 20, 2011: On February 25, 2011, two convictions were registered against Nucci's Bake-a-Deli, in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay. The company entered a guilty plea to one count under section 7.1 of the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act for falsely labelling net quantity weight on certain meat and bakery products and one count under section B.01.007 (1.1) (c) of the Food and Drugs Regulations for failing to label certain meat products with the required packaging and durable life dates. These two convictions resulted in a total fine of $1000.
