CERTAIN FROMAGERIE LA VACHE À MAILLOTTE ROSE BRAND SEMI HARD RIPENED CHEESE MAY CONTAIN LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Fromagerie La Vache à Maillotte are warning the public not to consume the Rose brand Semi Hard Ripened Cheese, described below, because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Affected product, Fromagerie La Vache à Maillotte, Rose brand Semi Hard Ripened Cheese, bearing lot # 011 and sold in 2 kg. and 200 g units. As well, this cheese may have been cut and sold at retail/deli counters in random weight packages starting on June 1, 2011 up to and including June 22, 2011. The brand name and lot code information of the original cheese may not appear on the individual cut pieces of the cheese. Consumers are advised to contact the retailer to determine if they have the affected product. This product has been distributed only in Abitibi - Temiscamingue, Québec. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product
