CERTAIN SHELL EGGS DISTRIBUTED IN QUEBEC MAY CONTAIN SALMONELLA BACTERIA
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Réal Veer inc. are warning the public not to serve or consume the Shell Eggs described below because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The raw shell eggs, product of USA, were sold in boxes containing 15 dozen eggs bearing lot code SEA-1024796 and Best Before date JAN-18-11 (January 18, 2011) to restaurants and other food service clients and other end-users. In addition, some of these eggs were packed as a component of Christmas baskets distributed to a charity organization located in St-Damien in the province of Quebec. Consumers who may have received unlabelled raw shell eggs, or Christmas baskets containing raw shell eggs, are advised to contact their supplier to determine if they have affected product.
