CERTAIN FRESH EXPRESS BRAND ROMAINE-BASED SALADS MAY CONTAIN SALMONELLA BACTERIA

The CFIA report that the public warning issued on May 25, 2010 has been updated to identify the correct product names, weights and UPCs for the affected products. Corrections are identified by an asterisk (*) in the table on the link. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume the Fresh Express brand Romaine-based Salads described below because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. This CFIA alert has been initiated in response to a recall by the manufacturer, Fresh Express Incorporated, of Salinas, California in the United States.The following Fresh Express brand Romaine-based Salads which have Use-by / Best Before Dates of May 13 through to May 16 and an "S" in the product code are affected.
