It has been determined that these products have a pH and a water activity level that is too high and could be a possible health hazard. With these high levels, it is possible for Clostridium botulism to grow. The recalled Sweet Potato Butter and Pumpkin Butter were sold to distributors and retailers in the following states: AL. AZ, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY. Any consumer that has this product should return the product to the store of purchase or destroy this product.
