Melamine and milk in the news again

BBC News reports that melamine contaminated milk products have again been found on sale in China, more than a year after thousands of children became ill in a huge food safety scandal. Products made by three different firms were found to contain melamine and have now been removed from supermarkets in Guizhou province.  It was February 2008 that melamine first came to our attention in the human food supply chain and the previous year when melamine was first identified as a contaminant in pet food. Six children died and over 300,000 children became ill from the incident in 2008. This continues to be a cause of concern.
