Ginni's withdraws soft dried apricots

The UK FSA has issued an allergy alert to confirm that Ginni’s is withdrawing its Soft Dried Apricots (200g) with a ‘best before’ date of October 2010, because the product contains the preservative sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the product label. This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone who is sensitive to sulphites. The product being withdrawn is:

* Ginni's Soft Dried Apricots
* Best before end: October 2010
* Pack size: 200g

Ginni’s is temporarily withdrawing the affected product from sale until stickers with the relevant allergen labelling adivce has been put on the packets. The company has been asked to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members of the withdrawal.

No other Ginni’s products are known to be affected.
