Boutinot recalls Chardonnay Marsanne Viognier wine

The UK FSA has issued an allergy alert to confirm that Boutinot has recalled the NOVAS Winemaker's Selection White 2006 brand of Chardonnay Marsanne Viognier wine, because it contains the preservative sulphur dioxide, which is not mentioned on the product label. This makes the product a possible health risk for anyone who is sensitive to sulphites. The product details are as follows:

* Product: Chardonnay Marsanne Viognier
* Brand: NOVAS Winemaker's Selection White 2006
* Lot number: L 41358

The wine is imported from Chile and sold mainly in independent retailers, some restaurants and in Booths' stores. Boutinot has recalled the affected wine from sale and it will be re-labelled with the correct allergy labelling information before being put back on sale. Boutinot has provided product recall notices for shops to display, and the relevant allergy support organisations have been contacted and will inform their at-risk members. If you are sensitive to sulphites and have bought the affected wine, you should speak to the manager at the shop where you bought it.
No other Boutinot or NOVAS Winemaker's Selection products are known to be affected.
