Undeclared sulphites in grain bars
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Rocky Mountain Grain Products (Division of 299614 Alberta Ltd.) are warning people with sensitivity to sulphites not to consume the "More Than a Square Meal" bar with Raisins described below. The affected product contains sulphites which are not declared on the label. The Rocky Mountain Grain Products "More Than a Square Meal" bar with Raisins is sold in a 200 g package bearing UPC 8 31537 00012 2. Only those packages of this product which do not clearly declare sulphites on the label are affected by this alert.
The affected product is known to have been distributed in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. However, it is likely this product was distributed nationally. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with sensitivity to sulphites.
