The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Chocolat Laurentide Inc. are warning people with allergies to egg protein not to consume the chocolate Easter figurines described below. The affected products contain egg protein which is not declared on the label.
The affected chocolate figurines are decorated with eyes that contain egg protein which is not declared on the label. The chocolate figurines are packaged in see-through plastic bags with the Laurentide brand, ingredient list and company contact info, as well as a sticker with the Nutrition Facts table. The packages do not bear a UPC or lot code.
These products have been distributed in Quebec. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
