Crumpets recalled due to undeclared allergen
The UK Food Standards Agency has issued an allergy alert about crumpets that have been produced by British Bakeries and packed for a number of different retailers and brands. they have been found to contain traces of milk protein which is not declared on the product labels

* ASDA ‘Smartprice’ 6 Crumpets
* ASDA 8 Crumpets
* ASDA 12 Crumpets
* Sainsbury’s Basics 6 Crumpets
* Morrisons 6 Crumpets
* Morrisons 12 Crumpets
* Mothers Pride 8 Crumpets
Only those products with a code of ‘X73’ are affected. Products coded ‘X25’ are unaffected. No other Mother’s Pride, ASDA Stores Ltd, Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd or Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC products are known to be affected.
The above products contain traces of milk protein that is not declared on the product labels. This makes these products a possible health risk for people who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or milk constituents.
