Jam recalled due to undeclared sulphites
The UK FSA has issued an allergy alert because Forest Products UK Ltd has withdrawn two batches of apricot jam products. This is as a result of incorrect allergen labelling information. Two batch codes of the Cherry Tree Apricot Extra Jam 340g and the West Country Preserving Company Finest Apricot Extra Jam 340g contain sulphur dioxide which is not declared on the label.
Sulphur dioxide is used as a preservative in the apricot ingredient. This makes these products a potential health risk for people who are sensitive to sulphites. Follow the link for the batch codes affected
