Salmonella outbreak in the UK
After all the blog posts on the US Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak the Telegraph has carried a report highlighting a Salmonella outbreak in the UK. There have been 114 confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteriditis PT12 in England and Wales. This strain is most commonly linked with poultry products. The Telegraph reports that the number of cases has increased sharply over the last six weeks and the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has launched an investigation. Most people have responded well to standard antibiotics. Follow the HPA link for more details.
