Bovril recall due to salmonella contamination

Unilever has issued a product recall notice on their website stating that "We have decided to take the precaution of issuing a product recall on Bovril Beef Extract 250g glass jars and 600g plastic tubs after routine internal quality checks identified traces of salmonella in a small number of products". The Telegraph reports that Unilever has recalled 15,000 jars and 72 plastic tubs from stores across the UK.

This recall comes hard on the heels of the Salmonella Agona recall that has been discussed in this blog over the last few days.
