Calperf operating under Creative Foods, a Santa Clara, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 216 pounds of chicken product due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. The product contains yogurt derived from milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. While yogurt is declared on the front label, the product is missing an ingredient list identifying milk as a sub-ingredient.

Kermit, Inc. of DeLand, Florida issuing a voluntary recall of ta range of products because of undeclared allegens on the label. Undeclared soy, an ingredient in Worcestershire Sauce, is used.

Royal Frozen Food, a Los Angeles, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 230 pounds of frozen beef and pork products that were not produced under a fully implemented Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan. A portion of these products are missing the USDA mark of inspection and may also contain egg, an undeclared allergen, which was not declared on the product label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

Fatima Brothers Inc. is recalling its 7 oz. and 14 oz. packages of SHAD RAISINS because they contained undeclared sulfites.

Coconut milk FSANZ recall due to undeclared dairy

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) last week issued recall notices for two coconut milk drink products due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (dairy). The two products were: Sammi Australia’s Orthodox Coconut Milk Juice (6 pack, 245 ml); and Sunnation Pty Ltd’s V-Fresh Coconut Milk Drink (240 ml aluminium can).

Consumers who have a dairy allergy or intolerance are advised to return the product to place of purchase for a full refund. The Sammi Australia product is sold in NSW and the ACT and the Sunnation product in NSW. Recall of Oishii Sushi Products Due to Metal Particles in Rice Ingredient

Withdrawal of Fruice Apple and Fruice Orange Drinks Due to Ineffective Seals

Following consumer complaints some packs of Fruice Apple and Fruice Orange were found to have ineffective seals which led to product spoilage. Mould growth was found in some Fruice Apple and oxidation was found in some Fruice Orange. Custom Produce Sales (“Custom Produce”) of Parlier, California is voluntarily recalling all cucumbers sold under the Fat Boy® label starting August 1, 2015 because they may be contaminated with Salmonella and are covered by an ongoing recall. No other Fat Boy® products are covered by this recall. Unlabeled cucumbers packed into a black reusable plastic container (RPC) and were sold in Nevada, as of August 1, 2015 are also covered by this recall.

The Kraft Heinz Company is expanding the voluntary recall of select code dates and manufacturing codes of individually-wrapped American slices due to the possibility that a thin strip of the individual packaging film may remain adhered to the slice after the wrapper has been removed. If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could potentially cause a choking hazard.

Olli Salumeria Americana, LLC., an Oceanside, Calif., establishment, is recalling approximately 5,391 pounds of salami products due to misbranding. The products’ packaging does not contain a list of ingredients, and FSIS wants consumers to be aware that this product was formulated with wine that contains sulfites. Consumption of these products may cause adverse health consequences for consumers who have sulfite sensitivities.
