Cheryl's Issues A Voluntary Nationwide Recall On Its 1.6 oz. Buttercream Frosted Cinnamon Pumpkin Cookies Due To Undeclared Peanuts

Cheryl’s of Westerville, Ohio is recalling 10,588 individually wrapped 1.6 oz. Buttercream Frosted Cinnamon Pumpkin Cookies because the wrapper on these affected cookies may not specifically state that the cookie contains Peanuts, a known allergen. Our investigation revealed that some of the packages of our Buttercream Frosted Cinnamon Pumpkin Cookies actually contained our Fudge Buttercream Frosted Peanut Butter Cookie. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

LL Bakery, Inc. Announces the Recall of White Farm Enriched White Bread, Butter Farm Enriched White Bread, and Italian Cream Danish for Undeclared Milk Allergens

LL Bakery Inc. of Torrance, CA is recalling all White Farm Enriched White Bread, Butter Farm Enriched White Bread, and Italian Cream Danish because product labels fail to declare the allergen "milk", in the whey powder listed in their ingredient statements. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a life threatening allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, that requires immediate medical attention should they consume these products.

LL Bakery Inc. immediately segregated its entire inventory of White Farm Enriched White Bread, Butter Farm Enriched White Bread, and Italian Cream Danish. They are notifying and warning consumers and customers not to consume them. White Farm Enriched White Bread is a 16 oz. loaf with square shaped slices. The label is white with blue and green lettering, and red design accents. The LL Bakery Logo is on the bottom left corner. Butter Farm Enriched White Bread is a 16 oz. loaf with square shaped slices. The label is white with brown and green lettering, and red design accents. The LL Bakery Logo is on the bottom left corner. Italian Cream Danish pastry is braided and has yellow creamy swirls and sliced almonds. The label is white with black lettering and a tan colored border. The LL Bakery Logo is on the bottom left corner. LL Bakery Inc. wants to ensure its products are safe.

Consequently, in addition to its ongoing cooperation with the California Department of Public Health, LL Bakery Inc. is voluntarily recalling all White Farm Enriched White Bread, Butter Farm Enriched White Bread, and Italian Cream Danish from all of its customers. Consumers in possession of these products should not eat them, rather products should be returned to the place of purchase.

Green Isle Recalls Harvest Stir Fry due to Possible Contamination with Datura Seeds

As a precautionary measure, Green Isle is recalling a batch of frozen Harvest stir fry which was sold in Tesco Ireland stores. This is due to reports from Belgium that one of the ingredients may have been unintentionally contaminated with seeds of a wild plant called datura. These seeds contain tropane alkaloids which may cause illness. No other batches or products are affected by this recall. Green Isle has issued a press notice and in-store recall notices will be displayed in Tesco Ireland stores requesting customers who have bought the implicated batch to return it. No action is required by official agencies.

Rural King Recalls Deer Corn Because of Possible Health Risk

Rural King Distributing of Mattoon, IL is recalling 205 tons of Deer Corn, because it has the potential to be contaminated with aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring mould by-product. Animals that have consumed any of the above recalled products may exhibit symptoms of illness including sluggishness, unthriftiness, or lethargy combined with a reluctance to eat, yellowish tint to the eyes, or diarrhea. Consumption of feed containing high amounts of aflatoxin can be fatal to some animals. Deer Corn was distributed to 63 retail stores in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. Deer Corn is packaged in a green, black, and brown camouflage bags weighing 50 lbs. The product UPC Code is 689139348193. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Tropical Valley Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Milk and Walnuts in Next by Nature Dark Chocolate Bananas

Tropical Valley Foods Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY, is recalling next by Nature DARK CHOCOLATE BANANAS, 3 oz. bags, due to undeclared milk and walnuts. People who have an allergy to milk and/or walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. The affected next by Nature DARK CHOCOLATE BANANAS was sold to distributors in Michigan, Oregon, Colorado, and New Jersey between the dates of January 3rd 2013 and January 10th 2013 for distribution to their retail customers.

Distributors where notified to inform their customers of the recall of the product, to immediately remove it from sale and discarded it. The affected product is packaged in 3 oz. bags with UPC 8 17582 25600 4 and "Best by Date" of 12/18/2013 and 12/19/2013. The recall was initiated after a retail store notified Tropical Valley Foods that Dark Chocolate Walnuts were found in bags labeled as Dark Chocolate Bananas. Subsequent investigation revealed that some Dark Chocolate Covered Walnuts were miss-packaged into bags labeled as Dark Chocolate Bananas by the chocolate coater.

Krinos Foods, LLC. is Expanding its April 28, 2013 Recall to Include Additional Expiration Dates Jan 01-2014 to Jun 08-2014 of Tahini Products Because of Possible Health Risk

Krinos Foods, LLC. of Long Island City, New York is voluntarily recalling its TAHINI sesame paste, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

 The Tahini product was distributed nationwide through retail stores. The TAHINI sesame paste product is sold in 1 LB glass jars, 2 LB glass jars and in 40 LB plastic pails. The UPC codes for the following products: 1 LB jar is 0-75013-28500-3, 2 LB jar is 0-75013-28510-2 and 40 LB pail 0-75013-04018-3. The recalled lots have a code stamped on the lid between “EXP JAN 01 – 2014 up to and including EXP JUN 08 – 2014” and “EXP OCT 16 – 2014” up to and including “EXP MAR 15 – 2015”. To Krinos’s knowledge, no illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The potential for contamination was noted after the Michigan Department of Agriculture conducted routine testing on a sample of the product in a retail store and advised Krinos of the positive test results. Krinos has ceased distribution of the product as FDA, the Michigan Department of Agriculture, and the company, continue their investigation as to what caused the problem. Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are urged to discard the product and return the gold cap stamped with the following dates: “EXP JAN 01 – 2014 up to and including EXP JUN 08 – 2014” and EXP OCT 16 – 2014” up to and including “EXP MAR 15 – 2015.
