The US FDA has issued a press release to confirm that S&M (U.S.A) ENTERPRISE CORP, 4703 2nd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11232, is recalling RAIN SWISS ROLL (BANANA FLAVOR) because it contained undeclared eggs. Consumers who are allergic to eggs may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product. The recalled RAIN SWISS ROLL (BANANA FLAVOR) was distributed nationwide in an uncoded 160 g cardboard box. It is a product of China. The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of eggs in packages of RAIN SWISS ROLL (BANANA FLAVOR) which did not declare eggs as an ingredient on the label. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

The US FDA has issued a press release to confirm that S &M Enterprise Corp, 4703 2nd Ave, Brooklyn NY 11232, is recalling GROVE GROW NOTES DRIED TARO because the product contains undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product. GROVE GROW NOTES DRIED TARO is sold in a 14 ounce, un-coded, clear plastic package and was distributed nationwide. It is product of China.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets food inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in GROVE GROW NOTES DRIED TARO which was not declared on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Molson Dry 1.18 Litre beer bottles

The CFIA has reported that Molson Coors is withdrawing 1.18 Litre Molson Dry bottles with a black bottle twist cap AND a production code that starts with D01. That code is printed directly on the neck of the bottle.

A few of these bottles produced for the Quebec market on April 1st, 2011 may have been mislabeled and could bear a body label indicating 5.5% Alcohol instead of 10.1%. Ausfoodnews reports that Patties Foods Ltd has announced an immediate recall on Four ‘n Twenty pies with a use-by date of 12, 13 and 14 July 2012, after the company found plastic fragments in a batch of the iconic Australian pies. The recall applies to individually packaged pies, sold at a variety of convenience stores, service stations, milk bars, canteens and other small retail outlets. Also being recalled is the Four ‘n Twenty six-pack, sold at Woolworths, Coles/Bi Lo, Metcash/IGA and Franklins. The company said it believed the plastic fragments were capable of causing illness or injury if consumed, and that customers should return the pies to the place of purchase for a full refund.
